The Star Fleet Ch. 1

The Star Fleet

                                     Chapter 1: The Human Tugboat.

Starlight was just your normal hard working Tugboat. Well 'normal' is not the best word to use for Starlight or calling her Tugboat non ales. You see in truth Starlight is a human girl who was found by Ten Cents as a baby and brought back to the other Star Fleet members. After some pleading from the Tugs Captain Star allowed the Tugs to raise the baby as their own and offered human food to the infant. As to how Starlight got her name well let just say she was like a star shining brightly in the night sky and so the Tugs came up with the name Starlight. Starlight grew with the love and protection of the Star Fleet.  When she was ten years old she was involved in an explosion involving some dynamite that Billy Shoepack was hauling to the Quarry. Big Mac was nearby when it happened and upon retrieving Starlight rushed her to Lucky's Yard despite the fact the repair dock was meant for boats. The Yard worker soon realize the only way to save Starlight was to replace much of her body with machines. Such an operation was unheard at the time but despite the odds the operation was a success and Starlight recovered enough to leave the repair dock. When she returned to the Star Dock the tugs were amazed to see what had happened to the little sister. Her right arm was made out of metal and piping that was shaped into an arm and hand and the something was done to her left leg.  A small firebox blazed brightly in her abdomen and the skin and organs that were left were upgrade to handle the heat of the firebox. Her lungs were upgrade to vent in oxygen to it and vent out the smoke and ash out as she breathed in and out. Despite the overhaul the Tugs welcome her back and since the day Starlight felt more connected to the Tugs she calls family.

Years soon passed and Starlight was now 21 and a lot bigger. She and the Star tugs were all gathered to receive the days work from Captain Star.

"Alright tugs calm down now," Captain Star began, "First off Hercules I need you to go to a port called the Big Harbor up in Canada and take Starlight with you."

"Me? Why?" Starlight asked.

"I hoping to be able make a partnership with the Big Harbor since we have yet to do so that where you two come in." Captain Star explained.

"So we should go to the Big Harbor and make contract or two with them," Hercules said.

"That right, Hercules, so go and get stock up before you two leave the port," The Captain replied, "As for the rest you what to do."

"Yes Sir," The tugs called out together and went off to work. Hercules and Starlight were soon stock up with the thing they need soon headed out passing their friends as they did so.

"Good luck you two," Ten Cents called.

"Tell us all about it when you get back." Sunshine called out as well.

"You can count on it," Starlight said, "And when we get back this port better be in good shape and O.J not towed away by you know who."

"You can count us," The two switchers called back.

The two tugs soon reached Lillie Lightship at Dender Rocks.

"Well hello Lillie, ma' dear," Hercules said as they came up to her.

"Hello to you too Hercules," Lillie answered back "Crossing the sea or just visiting,"

"Both," Starlight said from Hercules deck, "We're going to a place called the Big Harbor up in Canada."

"That's very far away," Lillie said, "but it's nothing Hercules can't handle."

"You couldn't be further from the truth, Lillie," Hercules replied, "We must be going now; don't want to be late."

"Take care now," Lillie called after them.

"We shall," Starlight  called back.

Meanwhile in the Big Harbor the Tugboats were gathered for the morning meeting.

"Alright Tugboats listen up," The Dispatcher said as he turned to them, "I got a special annocement to make: two Tugboat from the Big City Port are here to the Harbor in a few days."

"We're having visitors?" Theodore asked.

"That's right  as I said they will be here in a few days to do some work here and make some contracts," The Dispatcher explained, "The go by the names of Hercules and Starlight and the do arrive I want you all to be on you best behaviors for this is their first time coming here, got that?"

"Yes, Sir," The Tugs tooted back.

"Alright then let's get to work,"
